Do you dream of singing at La Scala? Would you like to play in an important orchestra or to conduct it? Milan offers you the opportunity to study in Italy’s largest music academy: Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, located in Via Verdi, a street named after the composer, right in Milan's city center. Here you will have the opportunity to refine your performance techniques for your preferred instrument, for singing solo or in a choir, for solfeggio or for orchestra conduction.
In addition, the Conservatorio is part of the Erasmus program due to its role in European and global musical education: every year more and more students enroll in the academy, who not just come from Europe but also from various non-European countries. As such, you will study in a multicultural environment, in a city where the tradition of opera is still popular and alive: Teatro alla Scala attracts thousands of people from Italy and from abroad every year.
At this academy you can obtain first or second level diplomas, equivalent to three or five-year degrees, but it is also possible to get involved with music even earlier, as the Conservatorio is partnered with a middle school and a high-school. The Conservatorio also runs evening courses.
